Join HCLT for our third annual Satulah-bration! You can see it from many places around town: Satulah Mountain, standing tall like an old friend watching over us, a silent constant in an ever-changing world. On September 28th & 29th you’re invited to the third annual Satulah-Bration, a community celebration to thank you for your support and to honor the first property Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust conserved in 1909 as well as the 3000+ acres protected since.
The Satulah Story: In 1909 a group of concerned citizens raised $500 to conserve the summit of Satulah, ensuring it would remain in its natural state in perpetuity as public park for all to enjoy. This group eventually evolved into the organization we now know as Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust (HCLT). Since then, HCLT has gone on to conserve over 3,000 acres of valuable land resources in Highlands and Cashiers and has earned the distinction of accreditation by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
