Hike, Chili Cook-Off, Music & Beer!
On September 30th, join HCLT as we Satulah-brate all day long!
You can see it from many places around town: Satulah Mountain, standing tall like an old friend watching over us, a silent constant in an ever-changing world. On September 30th you’re invited to the second annual Satulah-Bration, a community celebration to thank you for your support and to honor the first property Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust conserved in 1909 as well as the 3000+ acres protected since.
In 1909 a group of concerned citizens raised $500 to conserve the summit of Satulah, ensuring it would remain in its natural state- a public park for all to enjoy in perpetuity. This group eventually evolved into the organization we now know as Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust (HCLT). Since then, HCLT has gone on to conserve over 3,000 acres of valuable land resources in Highlands and Cashiers and has earned the distinction of accreditation by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.
This year, on Saturday, September 30th we will be celebrating the 108th anniversary of the summit of Satulah being conserved with a hike to the summit, followed by a chili cook-off, live music by the Colby Deitz Band, and beer from Satulah Mountain Brewing!

1PM – 3PM Live Music from Colby Deitz Band at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park (FREE!)
1PM – 4PM Chili Cook-Off ($10 to taste and judge, $10 to enter your chili)
