Festival of the Stars
Saturday, April 21– Come one, come all, let’s celebrate the stars! Brought to you by Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust, Albert Carlton-Cashiers Community Library and The Village Green, this NC Science Festival Event will be fun for the whole family. From 5-8:00 PM journey through the “dark” and learn about the stars and creatures that are awake while you are sleeping; from 7:30 & 8:30 PM enjoy Cherokee legends and myths as told by Cherokee storyteller, Freeman Owle and from 9-11:00 PM stargaze with local astronomers- all at The Village Green in Cashiers.
Saturday, September 29 - In celebration of the first property HCLT conserved in 1909, Satulah Mountain Preserve, and all of the 3,000 acres of special places they’ve protected since, join the Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust for their Third Annual Satulah-bration! Start the day off with a free guided hike to the summit of Satulah then be a tasting judge at the Chili Cook-Off. There will be other family activities and lots of fun at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park!
