What We Protect

The Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust permanently protects land through land purchases, property donations, and conservation easements and currently conserves more than 3000 acres in Jackson and Macon Counties. Conserved properties include: Chimneytop, Rock Mountain, Kelsey Trail, Ravenel Park, Satulah Mountain, The Big View, and home of the world’s largest Hemlock, the Henry Wright Preserve. Conserved lands are protected for all residents and visitors to our mountains and provide ecosystem services such as clean drinking water, wildlife habitat, and views. Not all of our lands allow for public access, but we do allow public access to several properties.
